Spain: Cementos Molins Becomes World’s Second Largest Producer of Calcium Aluminate Cements

Cementos Molins has reached an agreement with investment fund Ambienta SGR, Europe’s leading asset manager of sustainable investments, to acquire all the share capital of Calucem. Cementos Molins received legal and tax advice from Cuatrecasas.

Thanks to this agreement, Cementos Molins will expand and improve its innovative and sustainable solutions portfolio and become the world’s second largest producer of calcium aluminate cements (“CAC”). It will also promote its international development, with a major step forward in its profitable and sustainable growth strategy.

The transaction, with an enterprise value of €150 million, is scheduled to be completed in the last quarter of 2021 and is subject to approval by competition authorities in several countries. Meanwhile, both companies will continue to operate independently until the acquisition process is finalized.
