Germany: FAQ – Non-implementation of the Whistleblower Directive

EU Member States should have transposed the EU Whistleblower Directive (“EUWD”) into national law by December 17, 2021. Like many other EU Member States, the German legislator has let this implementation deadline pass. Many companies, especially those that have not yet implemented a whistleblower system at all, are therefore faced with an uncertain legal situation. We have compiled alphabetically the most important questions from the perspective of our compliance, legal, and human resources departments.
