Partner Jesper Rothe has been elected as the new chairman of The Association of Danish Law Firms.

In connection with a recent congress held by The Association of Danish Law Firms, partner Jesper Rothe has been elected as the new chairman of the association. Jesper has been a member of the board for the past four years and is now taking up the post of chairman.

"I am very pleased with the trust that my colleagues in the industry have shown me. Legal rights and the framework conditions for lawyers are crucial to me. That is why I will place great emphasis on the continued independence of lawyers, as independence is a prerequisite for clients to be confident that the lawyer has only their interests at heart. Overall, I will work to strengthen legal rights for citizens and businesses", he stresses, adding:

"We must protect the legal rights with our professionalism and show that we are a socially useful and socially responsible profession. We must therefore be an important voice in the legal policy debate and help to ensure the quality of the law, because things often go too fast at Slotsholmen".

Jesper is one of the country's most experienced lawyers specializing in corporate and international law and celebrated his 40th anniversary at Bech-Bruun last summer. In addition to his new role as Chairman of The Association of Danish Law Firms, Jesper is active on a number of boards in the Danish cultural and business sectors and is also Vice-Chairman of the Danish Press Council.
