Portugal: Classification of products as “food for special medical purposes

On 2 March 2023, the Court of Justice of the European Union (“CJEU”) sets out criteria for interpreting the definition of “food for special medical purposes” and for distinguishing this concept from the concepts of “medicinal products” and “food supplements”.
