Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP Students Volunteer for WLG | impact '23
As part of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP's (Canada - Québec) ongoing commitment to give back to our community, it is tradition for Davies students to plan and participate in various events in support of charitable organizations. This year's activities aligned with WLG | impact '23.
This year, the Davies summer law students organized an office-wide donation drive for Chez Doris, a local women’s shelter that offers a range of services and programs to meet the most basic needs of vulnerable and homeless women in Montréal. During the drive, which took place throughout the month of June, the students collected women’s clothing and women’s hygiene products, delivering several boxes of these items to Chez Doris. Then, during their on-site volunteering in July, the students helped prepare for the shelter’s summer clothing giveaway by folding, sorting and organizing hundreds of articles of clothing to be given away to women in need. They also had the opportunity to tour the Chez Doris facilities and learn more about the organization’s important work in the community. This was a rewarding and eye-opening experience for the students, who enjoyed bonding as a team while giving back for an important cause.
