ENSafrica's Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility

Published on Aug 17, 2020

ENSafrica is committed to CSR and the provision of pro bono services. The firm has a strong focus on education and vulnerable groups and thus CSR projects with this focus are supported by the firm in all the countries on the African Continent where we have a footprint. The firm’s pro bono project is a trailblazer that has since 2005 set up offices in vulnerable communities Cape Town and since 2008 in Johannesburg. Our pro bono project’s multi-pronged approach ensures access to justice by providing free legal assistance to vulnerable members of the societies where the firm operates. Our vision is underpinned on innovation and meaningful engagement and thus enterprise development and legal education are important components. The project was established by ENSafrica as a means to contribute positively towards facilitating access to justice. The key objectives of the project include:

- the provision of legal assistance on a pro bono basis;

- empowerment projects focussed on legal education and enterprise development programmes;

- playing an integral role in the facilitation of access to justice by the firms’ extensive involvement in the Department of Justice and Correctional Service’s Small Claims Court Project (South Africa); and

- the guidance and mentorship provided to entrepreneurs in the SMME space so as to foster entrepreneurship and foster the growth of local economies.

- Building strong stakeholder relationships within the communities and providing them with knowledge on Human Rights and constitutional law aspects germane to them.
