Malaysia: Shearn Delamore & Co. Advised Scientex Packaging Film in Its Acquisition of a Majority Stake in Taisei Lamick Malaysia Sdn Bhd
On 2nd September 2022, Scientex Packaging Film Sdn Bhd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Scientex Berhad, listed on Bursa Malaysia) and Taisei Lamick Co., Ltd. (listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange) entered into a share sale agreement for Scientex Packaging Film to acquire a majority stake in Taisei Lamick Malaysia Sdn Bhd from Taisei Lamick for MYR63,779,503.
Scientex is a leading manufacturer in flexible plastic packaging and a prominent developer of affordable homes in Malaysia. To date, Scientex has 17 manufacturing plants across Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar and the USA; as well as sales offices in 9 countries.
Taisei Lamick is a market leader in Japan for liquid and paste packaging systems.
TLM is primarily involved in the manufacturing and sale of printed and laminated flexible light packaging materials for food and beverage (F&B) and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) products.
