1. Briefly describe your practice.
I advise and represent national and international clients in IP law, focusing particularly on international trademark and design law, unfair competition law, international licensing law, sports law and cross-border litigation. Another main focus of my work is trademark clearance (e.g. in the context of international product launches) and the strategic management of large trademark and design portfolios.
2. Tell us about your experience working with many WLG firms as part of Gordian Hasselblatt's team that manages our global trademarks?
In 2015, I started managing the worldwide WLG trademark portfolio with Gordian. This gave me the fascinating opportunity to work with almost every WLG member firm from the beginning of my career at CMS and to experience the benefits of this global network. I have always been impressed with the dedicated lawyers who have the same high level of technical and quality standards wherever we have worked with our WLG colleagues - be it in China with Zhong Lun, in Russia with our local CMS office or lately in Canada with Goodmans. A personal highlight was meeting many of these colleagues at a WLG Regional Conference.
3. When the pandemic is behind us, where is the first place you'd like to travel and why?
This question is easy to answer because I have already planned my next trip. I am a passionate surfer and next week I will go on a surf trip to the French and Spanish Atlantic coast in my van. We are lucky that the borders between the European member states are open again. I hope that the same will soon be the case for the countries outside of Europe.
