Marketing & Business Development Forum

1. Tell us a little about your role at ENSafrica.
I am a Business Development Manager. My role includes looking after the Banking & Finance and Tax departments, the Mauritius office, four priority clients of the firm, as well as ad hoc BD projects such as ESG. Working with such inspiring, smart and passionate colleagues at ENSafrica makes my role dynamic, interesting and challenging.

2. What have you gained from being a member of WLG's Marketing & Business Development Professionals Forum?
It is wonderful to connect with colleagues around the world on a topic as specific as BD in a law firm. As much as we are geographically different, the challenges we face are quite similar. There is always something to learn: a new perspective on a problem, ideas for the role or a reminder of the importance of the basics. It has also been wonderful to build my global network and have the opportunity to get to know an international professional team.

3. Where do you see opportunities for other WLG firms to work with ENSafrica this year?
Africa remains ripe for opportunities, especially for the international market. Here are a few of the hot themes for 2022:

- ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance)
- as the importance of ESG continues to be highlighted across the world, it will play a more prominent role on board agendas in Africa in 2022 (and beyond).
- Tech – The digital transformation continues with the 4th Industrial Revolution. Watch out for everything moving to a tech platform.
- Education – Africa has the fastest growing population and with the emergence of an up-and-coming middle class, there will be a big focus on education across the continent.
- Pharma and Healthcare – the effects of COVID will continue to be felt across Africa. The continent has a low vaccination rate and poor healthcare infrastructure – ripe for investment and transformation.
- Agri-business – Food security across the world is a crucial issue. Africa is well placed to address this, as well as the advances in agri-tech.

4. What do you like to do in your free time?
I love being active and will walk, run, trail run, cycle or swim daily. I have a passion for traveling and seeing the world. Family and friends are really important to me and you can often find me socializing.
