1. Briefly describe your firm’s Data & Technology practice.
The Data & Technology practice at Castrén & Snellman consists of a group of talented and enthusiastic colleagues focusing on all data protection matters as well as any challenges and opportunities that come with digitalization and the use of new technologies. Another major part of our practice is to provide regulatory and strategic advice to our clients.
2. You've recently joined the Privacy & Data Protection Group. Tell us something valuable you hope to gain from this group.
Albeit there are country-specific regulations in certain areas, at the end of the day we are tackling many of the same issues. It is thus such a valuable experience to get to discuss and exchange viewpoints with professionals from other jurisdictions on different established interpretations. Even though I have only recently joined the Privacy & Data Protection Group, during this short time I have already noticed the warm and welcoming atmosphere between the members. Being part of this group will surely be immensely beneficial.
3. What is something you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I really enjoy my morning crossfit workouts before starting the day at the office. The best thing I know during the winter is snowboarding, and when the snow melts, I spend plenty of time on the sea with my sailing team. When I want to relax, I like to immerse myself in computer games and my all-time favorite game is Civilization IV.
4. Have you collaborated on any client or marketing matters with other WLG member firms?
We are fortunate in having had the opportunity to do plenty of collaborations with WLG member firms during the years. I have also personally worked with cross-border issues where I have made use of the WLG network and found the cooperation to be helpful and hassle-free. I have also provided support to other member firms in issues varying from local compliance reviews to comprehensive analyses of local regulations.
