Equipped with the top-notch lawyers with in-depth knowledge of the local political and legal systems and international expertise, VILAF has maintained a tier-1 ranking for all long-standing practices, including Corporate M&A, Project Finance, Capital Market, Banking and Finance, as well as Dispute Resolution. VILAF has been well prepared and active in the new practice area of renewable energy and international IPO in the last few years. Vietnam has become a top destination for capital and technology related to solar power since early 2018, wind power since 2019, and natural gas to power since early 2021. With Vietnam's new international commitment and efforts related to COP26, the country expects more green economic development, and wind power and natural gas to power shall continue to be of special interest in the coming years.
2. You are a member of WLG's Member Firm Leaders Forum which has held multiple sessions during the pandemic to discuss management issues. How has VILAF grown stronger over the last two years despite the global challenges?
I have learned from WLG colleagues who have shared about flexible working programs and firm vaccination plans, which have been adapted successfully at VILAF. This has helped us grow stronger, both in terms of building up our internal capacities and gaining stronger support from the families of those in the firm.
3. What is something you like to do in your free time (hobby)?
Taking a long walk together with friends for brief updates and regular swimming are my favorite activities to maintain physical and mental health and good work-life balance. I also share this with my colleagues and staff.
4. Have you had any recent client, marketing or other collaboration with a WLG member firm(s)?
VILAF has been working on joint pitches with some member firms and has been working on some projects with others including WongPartnership, Hunton Andrews Kurth, Zhong Lun, MinterEllison, Chandler MHM, and City-Yuwa Partners.
