1. Briefly describe your practice.

I represent financial institutions, private equity sponsors and public and private companies in a broad range of debt financing transactions, including syndicated senior credit facilities, second lien, mezzanine and subordinated debt financings, distressed debt investments, restructuring and recapitalization transactions, and high-yield bond issuances.

2. You spoke at Tuesday's Women of WLG Forum's Excellence in Practice & Beyond series. What is one key lesson you've learned on your path to where you are now, and what advice would you share with women navigating careers in the legal industry?

Probably the most helpful advice I’ve received (and given – at least I hope it’s helpful!) is to be curious – ask questions to help you learn and show your interest level – and volunteer to try new things.  As I mentioned in my presentation, be a "curious volunteer.” This is not only an important learning tool, but it also helps you to be involved in a very meaningful way as part of your team.

3. What role has business development played in your career journey, and what advice would you offer to women looking to grow their networks and client relationships?

One of the most important tools I have found in building a network is keeping in touch with old friends and former colleagues. You never know where someone’s career might take them and how you might be able to help them, but many really interesting opportunities can come from relationships that you already have.

4. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Given how much time I spend at my desk while working, when I have spare time, I like to spend it outside, doing something active. In winter, that means alpine skiing and snowshoeing and during the warmer parts of the year, I do a lot of walking – whether on a day hike with my husband and two sons, or on a short walk near our house to clear my mind.
