The Cuatrecasas Foundation has announced the first edition of the Manuel Olivencia Award for University Excellence. This aims to recognize academic qualifications and support the training of law students who have excellent academic records and propose a detailed study project. The award pays homage to the professional and personal achievements of distinguished lawyer and professor Manual Olivencia, highlighting his important contribution to the legal, academic, and business fields.

The award is endowed with a gross amount of €60,000 and is aimed at students in their final year of a law degree, any combined degree, or a master of laws at a Spanish university. The beneficiary will have the opportunity to continue their academic training, investing the monetary reward in carrying out a master’s degree, doctorate or research project related to business law during the 2025-2026 academic year at a Spanish university or abroad.

The board’s decision will be announced in March 2025. The award ceremony will take place in Seville on Thursday, June 26, 2025, and the main Spanish university, academic, business and social institutions will be represented.
