1. Describe your practice.

I manage Lane Powell’s Business Immigration practice team. We help companies in every industry hire workers from around the world in the United States. We also help with the compliance required to maintain an immigration program. Our team focuses on strategy development to obtain the best outcome for both our clients and their employees. This includes advising on: formation and funding for startups, mergers and acquisitions, international tax and employment considerations, Form I-9 audits, and investor visas.

2. Share with us how you've been involved with WLG to date and how you hope to get more involved in the future.

During the past seven years, I have actively engaged with WLG firms around the world for seamless immigration representation. Our clients bring many people to the U.S., and we can help with that. However, when a U.S. employee wants to work abroad, we need to engage with an immigration lawyer from that country. We have worked with WLG partners in several countries who have provided us and our clients with excellent service.

I plan to continue working with WLG firms for seamless client representation beyond immigration. Our client base is international and on the cutting edge of technology. I will continue to liaise with WLG to meet those clients’ needs.

3. You were a first-time attendee at WLG | regional New York '23. What takeaways did you gain from that event?

In-country regulations are constantly changing. International laws can be confusing and inconsistent. Sometimes business seems to move faster than the practice of law. Despite all of the resources available to us (like AI), we must rely on subject-matter experts in different regions to provide our clients with the best representation. The network of experienced thought leaders at WLG allows us to operate as the largest, premium international law firm.

4. Tell us about any recent client, marketing, or other collaboration with another WLG member firm(s)?

As a full-service business firm, Lane Powell works with WLG member firms often. Recently, I assisted our member firm in Korea with business and immigration needs. We also work with member firms in Israel and Costa Rica on tax and immigration matters.

5. What is your ideal vacation location?

Mexico City! I am excited to see more of the food, music, rich history, and business opportunities the city has to offer. I can’t wait for a WLG meeting in Mexico City.
