Published on Aug 15, 2024

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is proud to announce that partner Jared Grodin has been named one of the Houston Business Journal's 2024 40 Under 40 honorees. This prestigious award recognizes young professionals in the Greater Houston area who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, community involvement, and professional excellence.

Grodin, 38, has made significant contributions to the legal industry through his commercial finance practice. He represents a distinguished roster of commercial banks, non-bank lenders, and both public and private company borrowers. Grodin’s experience spans a wide array of secured and unsecured credit transactions, including leveraged buyouts, energy lending, real estate lending, asset-based lending transactions, and complex cross-border and multi-currency lending transactions. In the past year alone, Grodin has worked on commercial lending matters with an aggregate value of more than $4.2 billion.

Beyond his professional achievements, Grodin is deeply committed to community service. He volunteers with the Texas Children's Hospital Medical Legal Partnership, providing critical assistance to low-income patients and their families. Hunton Andrews Kurth has been involved in over 340 cases since the program's inception, addressing a spectrum of medical, social, legal, and economic issues that impact healthcare outcomes, and through Grodin’s involvement, the firm continues to expand that relationship.

Grodin also plays a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of legal talent as the co-hiring partner for Hunton Andrews Kurth's Houston office. He is actively involved in mentoring young lawyers and identifying pro bono opportunities. His dedication to pro bono work earned him the Houston Volunteer Lawyers' Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Achievement in 2019.

In addition to his legal and community service work, Grodin is an active board member for Summerhouse Houston, a non-profit focused on job placement for adults with special needs, and Steel Magnolia Moms, a non-profit that supports mothers of children with special needs by providing services to support mental health, personal wellness, family balance, and much more, and for the past three years, has coached the Challenger Division of West U Little League for children with special needs.

"We are incredibly proud of Jared's accomplishments and his recognition as one of Houston Business Journal's 40 Under 40," said Tammy Brennig, Houston managing partner at Hunton Andrews Kurth.  "His commitment to excellence, leadership, and service embodies our firm's mission to provide exceptional legal services while making a positive impact on the communities we serve."

The Houston Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Awards celebrate young professionals who are making significant contributions to their industries and communities. Grodin will be featured in a special issue of the Houston Business Journal and honored at an awards ceremony later this year.
