1. Briefly describe your practice.
Currently I chair Greenberg Glusker's Corporate, Finance & Securities practice. I have been practicing for the last 20 years and have developed a focus in the M&A space. Outside of M&A I routinely counsel clients (including middle-market, automotive, manufacturing, food and beverage and branded consumer companies) in connection with general corporate, joint venture, licensing & distribution, and strategic alliances matters.
2. You have recently become a KCP for Greenburg Glusker. What would you like to accomplish in this new role?
Over the years I have noted that many of our attorneys here at Greenberg Glusker have relied on WLG in order to enable clients the global services they sometimes need. As a KCP I hope to become more integrated in making that happen for our clients and assist other WLG member firms in servicing their clients.
3. Having joined as a first-time delegate at WLG | summit Rome '23, what was the highlight of the event for you?
Obviously Rome was a great place to be a "first-time delegate" in terms of location. Although I am new to the WLG conference setting, it is hard to imagine future conference activities and programming topping what took place in Rome. Even so, the highlight for me was getting to know so many WLG delegates at once. It was akin to speed networking but with the benefit of having my colleague and WLG veteran Brian Kang providing background and making introductions.
4. Could you tell us about a recent client, marketing, or other collaboration with another WLG member firm?
One of the highlights of the Rome conference was meeting attorneys to whom I have referred clients. A few years back I referred a matter to Jorge León-Orantesof Santamarina y Steta S.C. I had forgotten about the referral until Jorge and I connected in Rome. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my client is still relying on them and was set to meet Jorge and his firm in Mexico soon after the conference.
5. What is something compelling that you've read, listened to, or watched lately?
I am a bit of a Beatles fanatic and recently watched a short film and read articles in connection with the making of their last song release – "Now and Then." The way they utilized an AI program to isolate certain tracks in order to permit the remaining Beatles to finish the song is amazing. It will be interesting to see how the legal community continues to try and adapt/adjust to AI and its uses in many different platforms.
