1. You're a new KCP for SyCipLaw. Tell us something new or exciting happening at your firm?
SyCipLaw celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the different challenges brought about by the pandemic, our firm continues to thrive, and we continue to provide the same level of excellent service to our clients. SyCipLaw has been ranked "Outstanding” (the highest possible recognition) by asialaw in its 2022 rankings for Philippine law firms in all 15 categories. SyCipLaw is also the only Philippine law firm that received the most number of "Band 1” rankings for 2022 from Chambers Asia-Pacific. Finally, SyCipLaw is the Philippine law firm that received the most number of "Tier 1” rankings for 2022 in The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific. I believe that this is a testament to the resilience of our firm.

2. You have been involved in WLG's practice and industry groups, particularly HR. What is something valuable you've gained from your involvement in that group?
Learning about the HR developments and practices in other countries, especially how companies are dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic as they resume operations, is very valuable. The WLG HR Group continues to update its Employer COVID-19 Vaccine Policies Q&A, where WLG member firms around the globe provide their insight on employer and employee rights when it comes to requiring the COVID-19 vaccine to return to work. Gaining different HR insights and best practices from the other WLG member firms is valuable as I advise my clients on employment-related issues and concerns.

3. Do you have a recent WLG client collaboration you would like to tell us more about?
I was recently a speaker in a webinar initiated by the WLG HR Group, which focused on measures adopted in the workplace due to the COVID-19 pandemic, managing employees due to the resumption of operations, and retrenchment of employees in view of the economic repercussions of the pandemic. It was very interesting to hear about HR developments and practices in other countries in the Asia-Pacific Region as we cope with the pandemic.

4. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I have two children aged 7 and 5 years old, and so I do not have any free time. Kidding aside, I enjoy spending my free time with my family. We usually go on long drives, exercise together, or just watch movies at home.
