1. Briefly describe your practice.
I represent owners, investors, operating companies, private equity firms, and family offices in acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, and other high-stakes business transactions. I lead my firm’s worldwide private equity practice and therefore spend a significant amount of time working with private equity firms and their portfolio companies. Although I serve all industries, I have particular depth in the financial services, food and agribusiness, health and life sciences, manufacturing, and technology sectors.
2. You were recently selected as a Key Contact Partner for your firm. Can you tell us what you hope to gain through WLG participation?
As a recently selected KCP, I hope to establish strong and long-lasting ties with other WLG members. I aim to further strengthen our firm’s presence within the WLG network and pursue more opportunities for collaboration and joint business development activities. I also hope to share our firm’s expertise and knowledge with other WLG members to help other WLG members and their clients. Finally, I will encourage more lawyers within my firm to participate in WLG activities since this will create a stronger community for WLG members.
3. You were a first-time delegate at WLG | summit Bali '24, and will soon attend WLG | summit Buenos Aires '24. What advice would you offer to others attending their first WLG | summit?
You will never forget your first WLG | summit. My best advice is to be a sponge and absorb all that you can. In particular, spend as much time as you can getting to know other WLG members. I found every WLG member to be very welcoming. I really enjoyed learning about other parts of the world and exploring ways that members can work together and support each other.
4. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
When I have free time, I enjoy spending it with family and friends, attending almost any live sporting event or concert, and watching documentaries. Since I live in Minneapolis where winter seems to last at least six months, I particularly enjoy the warm summer months and try to be outside on a boat, or at a friend’s cabin whenever possible. I am also very interested in exploring new destinations and learning more about other cultures.
