WLG | impact '24: Shall we Read? Strengthening Children's Reading Skills
Taylor Wessing (Germany) is focusing on their corporate citizenship commitments and started a new partnership with the NGO LeseAllianz. Its aim is to strengthen the reading skills of children and young people, awaken their love of reading and promote their language development. This is intended to promote equal opportunities and educational equality in Germany.
This happens through an innovative digital reading app which brings children and volunteer reading mentors digitally together.
Taylor Wessing employees and partners are trained as reading mentors and read 1:1 with a child every week. The NGO Leseallianz tracks the improvements of the kids' reading skills to make the positive impact visible.
Furthermore, Taylor Wessing committed to buy reading licenses which the children need to participate in the program and recruit volunteer reading mentor to read with the children once a week. The reading licenses not only enable the children to read with their mentor but also give them access to more than 1000 books on the app.
