WLG | impact '25: Giving Back in Athens
WLG | regional Athens ’25, hosted by Bahas, Gramatidis & Partners LLP, brought delegates from across the EMEA region to network and explore regional trends and opportunities. As part of WLG | impact, our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, participants had the opportunity to engage in a meaningful hands-on activity supporting local children.
Hands-On Support for "Mitera” and Its Mission
The Attica Child Protection Center "Mitera,” is a public institution that provides shelter, food, healthcare, and specialized support to pregnant women and children. "Mitera” supports women facing pregnancy without a safety net and cares for children who are unable to live with their families. In addition to accommodation and daily care, the center provides access to psychologists and social workers and operates adoption and foster care programs through its eight residential lodges.
Senior Associate Betty Smyrniou introduced the day’s hands-on activity: assembling care packages filled with essential items such as baby wipes, diaper cream, and toiletries, with a few treats and toys added as well, for young children supported by "Mitera.” Delegates collected items, wrapped them with care, and included personal notes of encouragement to accompany each package.
Delegates work together to wrap items and add them to the care packages.
Antonis Vertoudos of Bahas, Gramatidis & Partners was among those who visited the children to deliver the care packages following the conference. He shared that firm representatives "visited many of the children and passed out their care packages ourselves; it was a touching experience.”
Firm representatives delivered the care packages to local children personally,
interacting with them and witnessing their joy.
From Wildfires to Renewal: A Legacy of Reforestation
Bahas, Gramatidis & Partners demonstrates a deep commitment to CSR by supporting initiatives that strengthen its community, preserve cultural heritage, and promote environmental sustainability.
In response to devastating wildfires that ravaged Greece in recent years, the firm has led multiple reforestation efforts to restore agricultural land and support the local economy. Partner Yanos Gramatidis spearheaded fundraising and legal efforts to replant tens of thousands of olive trees in Ancient Olympia, Delfi, and the Amfissa region—ensuring that affected farmers could rebuild their livelihoods. Beyond replanting, the firm also helped secure vital irrigation infrastructure and launched an educational program to equip farmers with modern, sustainable agricultural techniques. This large-scale project was the firm’s WLG | impact project spanning 2021-2023, adding to the network’s collective global impact.
In addition to environmental restoration, Bahas, Gramatidis & Partners actively supports education and professional development. The firm sponsors student competitions, seminars, and conferences, providing opportunities for future legal and business professionals to grow and excel. Through these initiatives, the firm remains dedicated to making lasting, positive change.
