What advice would you give to a young female associate looking to make partner/advance her career?

I believe that success in one's career without the same success on the family front is a hollow victory. I would urge young female associates not to sacrifice one for the other.

As a woman, what do you think are the keys to success?

I think the keys that are critical to a woman's success are time management and efficient utilization of resources. Women lawyers tend to take on many active roles, such as full-time lawyers, mothers, and sometimes even caregivers for parents or parents-in-law. The ability to seize the moment and do what I need to as efficiently as possible allows me to deliver the tasks and enjoy each moment of the roles I embrace!

How has your legal education and experience served you in other aspects of your life that bring you joy?

Community service - the ability to help those who cannot afford to pay for legal services. It is an old adage that ignorance of the law is no excuse, yet as much as the law applies to everyone and in most aspects of our lives, there remains a large number of people who are "ignorant" as to the law or had no access to knowledge of the law. It gives me great pleasure that my legal education and experience can help someone in trouble, provide awareness to better deal with situations, put a charitable organization in a better position to do good, and help families ensure that their next generation is taken care of.
