Vietnam: Competition Law on Merger Filing

On June 12, 2018, the National Assembly adopted the “Competition Law”. The Competition Law takes effect from July 1, 2019 and is guided in details by a March 24, 2020 Decree of the Government (“Decree 35”) which took effect from May 15, 2020. Significant issues regarding economic concentration under Vietnam competition framework are laid out below.
