Philippines: SyCipLaw Partner Leslie C. Dy is New Head of the Firm's Employment and Immigration Department
SyCipLaw partner Leslie C. Dy has been appointed the head of its Employment and Immigration Department (EID), effective March 1, 2024. She succeeds Dante T. Pamintuan following his retirement at the end of February 2024. (Mr. Pamintuan will continue to serve as Of Counsel to SyCipLaw, effective March 1, 2024.)
With a career spanning over three decades, Ms. Dy specializes in employment and labor, handling arbitration, litigation, collective bargaining negotiations, and immigration, among others. Her practice also includes civil litigation specializing in product liability, family relations and succession.
Ms. Dy provides counseling and advice to local and foreign investors covering Philippine labor laws in general, assisting companies in their day-to-day employment-related issues and concerns, including data privacy matters. She handles complex employment disputes and employment-related issues in corporate restructuring, including M&A projects. She regularly contributes articles on Philippine employment and labor laws to international legal publications and gives lectures to senior executives and personnel managers in top corporations.
Ms. Dy has been ranked as a Band 1 practitioner in Employment by Chambers Asia Pacific, a Leading Individual by The Legal 500, a Litigation Star and one of the Top 100 Women in Litigation by Benchmark Litigation Asia Pacific. She is also cited as a Distinguished Practitioner by asialaw and one of the Philippines' Top 100 Lawyers by Asia Business Law Journal. Ms. Dy obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree (cum laude) from De La Salle University and her Bachelor of Laws degree (First Honors) from Ateneo de Manila University.
