Singapore: WongPartnership wins multiple awards at The Legal 500 Southeast Asia Awards 2023
WongPartnership is thrilled to announce that the Firm has bagged four awards at the prestigious Legal 500 Southeast Asia Awards 2023. We were named Law Firm of the Year in the areas of Antitrust & Competition, and Construction and Real Estate. Koh Swee Yen, S.C. (Head of International Arbitration and Partner, Commercial & Corporate Disputes) was named Litigation Lawyer of the Year, and Clayton Chong (Partner, Restructuring & Insolvency) was named Restructuring & Insolvency Rising Star of the Year.
Swee Yen emerged the winner of the Litigation Lawyer of the Year Award ahead of 15 other prominent litigation practitioners across the region. Clayton beat two others shortlisted for the Restructuring & Insolvency Rising Star of the Year Award.

Clayton Chong was elected as a new Partner of WongPartnership in January this year. His main areas of practice include restructuring and insolvency with a focus on formal and out-of-court cross border restructurings. He has worked on many matters of significance including acting for the judicial managers of Xihe Holdings, an oil tanker conglomerate with estimated assets and liabilities over US$1 billion, in connection with the structured sale of Xihe Holdings’ tanker fleet, and for EMAS Chiyoda Subsea in its US$1.6 billion cross-border debt restructuring exercise, including successfully obtaining recognition of its US Chapter 11 reorganisation plan in Singapore.
